CCIM, Certified Commercial Investment Member, is the commercial real estate industry's highest credential for investment analysis. Only about 6 percent of commercial practitioners hold it, and designees average 42 percent more transactions a year than a typical brokerage specialist, according to The CCIM Institute.
John DeMarco is the founder and President of The DeMarco Real Estate Group® and Broker/Owner of RE/MAX 5 Star Realty in Hollywood, Florida. He began his real estate career in early 2006 and is now in his 21st year of representing property owners, investors, landlords, and tenants across South Florida and statewide. He and his team have sold and leased more than $1 billion in real estate.
John built his career on one principle: the client's outcome comes first. He advises owners on when to sell, lease, or hold, and represents them through pricing, marketing, negotiation, and closing. His marketing has brought international investors to U.S. property, with more than $600 million in overseas capital allocated to purchases through his team.
John holds the CCIM designation, the commercial real estate industry's highest credential for investment analysis, and is a licensed Community Association Manager, which allows his firm to manage condominium and homeowner associations as well as commercial and multifamily property. His areas of practice are commercial sales and leasing, industrial, investment property, 1031 tax-deferred exchanges, senior housing and assisted living facilities, residential sales, and full-service property management.
John moved to South Florida in 1998 from Fayette City, a small town in southwestern Pennsylvania. After a brief period in corporate America, he joined RE/MAX at 21, drawn by its founding values of hard work, belief, and resolve. He studied business administration and business law at Florida Atlantic University. Today his organization includes more than 50 real estate professionals, including his own sales team and staff of 15.
John founded and serves as President of the Downtown Hollywood Property Owners Association (DHPOA), one of the largest civic associations in downtown Hollywood, representing more than one million square feet of property ownership. He is a member of the CCIM Institute and a shareholder in CoStar, CREXi, and RE/MAX Holdings. A portion of every commission he earns is donated to the Children's Miracle Network. John and his team also donate a portion of annual earnings to the Archdiocese of Miami, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, the Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Broward County, and Calvary Church.
John is married with three children and coaches their ice hockey and baseball teams. He is a boater who spends his free time fishing and golfing.
